I teach a comprehensive firearms safety course you can use to show the firearms review board you are serious about correcting whatever mistake you made. I supply yo and your lawyer the material from the course as well as a certificate of completion.
In many cases you can get your permit back so you can exercise your right to safety with a firearm.
I started my firearms trainer career in the CT Army National Guard, A co. 1/102 Infantry, where as a Sergeant I was selected to attend the U.S. Army Small Arms Instructor Range Operations Course. After that, I assisted my battalion with qualifications training, remedial training, and range operations. I then served our communities as a police officer for 21 years, for 15 of those years I was an active police firearms trainer and for 4 of those years I was a member of a Regional Emergency Response Team (SWAT) as an assaulter. In 2011 I started teaching civilians and shortly after decided to continue down that path. I attended the NRA Instructor training, getting certified to teach the Basics of Pistol Shooting Class. In 2019 I received my instructor certification from the USCCA in Concealed Carry and Home Defense Fundamentals. I continue to expand my training and instructor knowledge. In 2020 I became a certified NRA Range Safety Officer, USCCA Countering the Mass Shooter Threat Instructor, and USCCA Emergency First Air Instructor.
I run small group classes and private lessons to fit your needs. If you just want to shoot better that’s not a problem, I can definitely do that. But, my specialty is in defensive firearms training. I have been a student of firearms combatives for 33 years. My instructor certifications were geared towards combatives with firearms. I have taken many classes in use of force and combative mindset to help me better understand how the human body reacts under the stress of a high stress encounter such as a deadly force encounter. I bring that mindset to all my combatives classes.

Customized firearms training to fit your individual needs. From new users to experienced users I can customize a plan for you. Fundamentals trying to self defense training we have you covered. CT Pistol permit course in the Middletown area. I can also travel to your range to run customized classes to fit your desired needs.
Patriot Performance Shooting specializes in self defense firearms training. Whether it is Handgun, Rifle, or Shotgun we can guide you down a path to make you more proficient in using firearms for self defense.
Do you own a handgun for self defense? How about a rifle or shotgun? Did you know a majority of self defense shootings occur in low light. If you can not see your threat how can you be sure they are a lethal threat to you? Being able to explain to law enforcement or a jury you knew the person trying to assault you was a deadly threat because you turned your flashlight on giving you a clear picture of the threat can save you from prison or a civil law suit.
My low light handgun and long gun courses are designed to give students who have never taken a low light training course the knowledge they need to continue training or it can be a refresher for end users who have taken a low light course but want to better their skills. The course covers principals of low light, basics of how your body processes lighting variations, flashlight types and features, mounting, carrying, switches, transition to handgun (optional), use of cover, and how to use your weapon light and handheld light for target identification/engagement.
